Offended ? ... me ? ... LOL ... no, not at all.
I just find the pointlessness of generality humorous.

I'm sure Phil feels the same.

The lack of contact information should be an insight into the individuals true dedication or lack thereof.

Use it to your advantage.

The offense taken to that lil phrase never ceases to make me giggle on the inside.

How come peeps have probs getting other musicians?? No joking... I flood the sh¡t out of my FB page as well as my local Craigslist... Since I started playing again only a few years ago, I can't remember not being in a band within 2 weeks of my last band.... I put up 2 different types of ads one to start my own or one looking for a lead axe! Always get something started real quick...

Well, as of today, I really kicked myself in the backside and started contacting people more than I ever have. If I have to, I'll make looking for a band a part time job until I find the guys. I'm tired of thinking about it anymore.

I see TONS of profiles with NO CONTACT INFO AT ALL
All you have to do is go back into your profile page, and add a phone number, email address, etc..
YOU CAN USE THIS THING TO YOUR ADVANTAGE
DUH!!!

Says the person with NO music posted to their profile.

No... it's just that I've been lucky enough to have been playing all the local clubs for the past 5 years so When I post ads either looking for musicians or just getting into an established band, I usually get lot's of replies pretty quick...

Gah, I got profile views from some people I sent messages to, but no replies yet. I figure if I send messages to everybody maybe I'll get to meet somebody...maybe.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to change my profile in time. It comes off like I'm trying to become a rockstar or something. Maybe that's the problem because most people just want to play locally, for the most part. Either that, or my playing isn't satisfactory to them.

My GC took down their bulletin board years ago(don't know why). That's where I've met some good musicians.

Please. I prefer Musician's Contact Service: http://www.musiciansconnection.com/. You pay on an ad by ad basis, you get contacted but you're dealing with pro players.

Couldn't agree more ...

I like the forum here because there's some really great guys here and some decent players. If you're new to the business, they can provide some good insight and it's worth it to stick around and check out the posts. I like just shooting the sh*t with some musicians for a change.

Yup ... meet some nice people on this forum :D ... some not so nice too ... [/quote]
