LOL...hair today...gone tomorrow! In high school, I had a long Rick Derringer style shag happening that had all the girls jealous because "it's not fair that a GUY has hair like you" They weren't quite as envious when it started falling out at 20...pretty much ended my musical career in 1975..."I ain't getting up on stage looking like THIS"!
Never stopped growing it. After I got out of the military it started breaking off about collar length, still does. If it would still grow, I'd have hair down to my butt right now, and anyone who thinks guys look weird bald on top with long hair can just take a hike...I hate short hair. If I was meant to have a short haircut I would have been born with one.
Got sent home first day of my senior year because my hair was too long, got sent home a couple of times that year, had several near fights with rednecks who wanted to give me a haircut with their pocket knives, numerous screaming matches with my father over it...he gave me crew cuts until high school when I refused to let him make me the laughingstock of the school again, it was a sore point with him for many years. I thought he was going to have a heart attack first time I showed up with a pony tail 3 or 4 inches below my collar...
I'll be a hippie till they throw dirt on my pine box...

The David Crosby look is a little odd. I always thought if I started losing my hair I'd shave it bald. I gotta laugh at anyone going bald who gave me sh*t about my hair way back when.
She asks me why
I'm just a hairy guy
I'm hairy noon and night
Hair that's a fright
I'm hairy high and low
Don't ask me why
Don't know
It's not for lack of bread
Like the Grateful Dead
Darling
Gimme head with hair
Long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming,
Streaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there hair
Shoulder length or longer
Here baby, there mama
Everywhere daddy daddy
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair
Let it fly in the breeze
And get caught in the trees
Give a home to the fleas in my hair
A home for fleas
A hive for bees
A nest for birds
There ain't no words
For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder
Of my...
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair
I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy
Snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
Oily, greasy, fleecy
Shining, gleaming, streaming
Flaxen, waxen
Knotted, polka-dotted
Twisted, beaded, braided
Powdered, flowered, and confettied
Bangled, tangled, spangled, and spaghettied!
Oh say can you see
My eyes if you can
Then my hair's too short
Down to here
Down to there
Down to where
It stops by itself
They'll be ga ga at the go go
When they see me in my toga
My toga made of blond
Brilliantined
Biblical hair
My hair like Jesus wore it
Hallelujah I adore it
Hallelujah Mary loved her son
Why don't my mother love me?
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair

Anyway, when did you cut your locks off, and why? At what age did you start growing it out?
Mine was half way down my back. I dont really plan on growing it out at all.
I got shaved in the military and i like it a lot better. easier to maintain (ie I do nothing to it now) and it's easier to aim down iron sights now... Well I guess it might have made bass playing easier too; but why discuss music stuff on bandmix? (not a slam against you Kruliosis, just a general statement about this forum.)
I started growing it out after a girl friend dumped me in 9th grade kept it until I enlisted.
