I believe motivation is a skill, and an art form that can be learned and refined over time very much like learning an instrument or voice. Not many do it really well. If you want to learn from one of the greats, read John Wooden's books. He lived it, taught it, refined it, and shared it with anyone who wanted to learn.
He spent his whole life teaching others to yoke their own strengths and to exceed their own expectations. He is arguably one of the greatest leaders/motivators of our time.
