That was the 80's.

Nope. The 90's. You're thinking of the most awesome genre in the world that influenced it...Thrash Metal.

If I dont like soemthing I just dont listen to it, I may play it if I have too, but Im not gonna cruise around listening to anything that I dont like!

It's not bad to me, just a one trick pony for Metal. Not much in abundance as far as originality.

Today a lot of aggressive music is bland. Only one thing left to do...make your own music.

Death Metal, done right, doesn't have to be bland... unfortunately, I have yet to find a single band that can do it well constantly... Single songs can be fantastic though. Generally, the closer to melodic death it gets, the better off you are.

"Black Metal" was even the title of a Venom album. Whatever genre you want to call what we've got now (horseshit metal?) it is derived from 80's black and death metal. I haven't really heard of any "new" styles in a long long time. Grindcore and Nu-Metal were the last new genres they came out with...way back. Ever since, people have been re-writing history to make their stale sh*t sound fresh. I've even heard someone call the Dead Kennedys "Pop-Punk"...uh...wuh..? In the words of Lemmy Kilmister, "We play Rock n' Roll." :D
