Indeed, the Yardbirds had an influence. Old Bluesmen had an influence on them. Gospel players and singers had an influence on the Bluesman. There's a progression in everything. But how famous were the various Bluesmen compared to the Yardbirds, compared to Cream, compared tp Zeppelin, Purple, or any and all of them compared to the Beatles? Personally, I shelled out alot more money in the day for other albums than Beatles albums.

I have never reached for my wallet because others do or have.

I suggest "wheels of Fire" for a good understanding of Cream.

I'll go with 2 of those Klug, but as I've said here before Clapton is the most famous mediocre guitarist in history!
