hello everybody, i moved over to the states from ireland about four months ago and i cant believe how bad the band scene is in west virgina, the reason ive landed in w.v. is because my wife is from here but ive had little chance apart from a few loose jams with a couple of guitar players to try and get something going,by this stage im just about ready to move to boston or new york to try and find good venues and most importantly good people to play with,
it seems that most the people ive met just want to be in a band but not have to jam or work hard or do just about anything but tell people there in a band...its f**k up
in my home town of dublin ireland you could form a new band every day of the week with really good players who know what there doing, there are almost too many fantastic players and not enough venues but alas
thats little help to me now...so come on america where are all the real players out there????????????????????

Seems like everyone has the same lament....I even heard it from the Irish side of the pond a few times.

Hey Anthony,

Man , Id forget about music for a minute and go sit down in a quiet place and ask GOD , WHAT HAVE I DONE SO WRONG IN THIS LIFE, deserving to wind up HERE???...Find out NOW , so it doesnt happen again.... ...
I played steady around here 75-79 when it was great...Came back in 94 and it wasnt bad but it has really gotten BAD in the last 5-7 years...I mostly do fill in jobs now and have others over to jam occasionally at my little studio where I write ,record and keep my chops up...I havent been in a committed band since 2001...All venues, clubs, fairs and festivals, local bars, etc. have declined big time..Metal and Punk rule around here now..the local JAM NITE scene is almost non-existant .Dont know what your lookin for but Im always lookin to get into something new..I have PA , drums, bass amp , Keys (sequencer) set up here...Give me a shout if ya wanna play some...Im just an ole classic rocker though...Everything 60-80s'.. MAYBE some a that new 90's stuff... If your looking for a working band there are a few local jam nites still happenin ..There mostly alt. and metal so I dont attend..Nothing against metal, just not my MOS..
Anyway, Im headin up to Weston WV. for the big Labor day festival at Jacksons Mill..Ill be back MON....give me a shout if ya wanna chat...

Anthony. Listened to your tunes. It all sounds really great. We are an established group from the area with dates booked. We have been together for about 20 years and have recently lost our vocalist. Give us a call, I think we may be able to help each other out. 304-552-0389
