Got my new toy in the other day and have been playing with it some.
Plastic ... it does not feel substantial. The receiver nor the transmitter.
It does have a nifty little pouch for the transmitter that Velcros around the guitar strap. Good positive click stops for each channel on both units yet requires a little screw driver to make the adjustment.
A lot of gain from the transmitter. With it barely turned up I get that edge of feedback feel that makes the hammers and flicks really jump out without a lot of effort.
Took me several hours to find a sweet spot as I had to take the guitar off and the transmitter out of the pouch to adjust the gain.
Going to use it in rehearsal tonight, and if all goes well for the two shows we have next week.
The mini XLR to 1/4" cable that connects the guitar to the transmitter pack looks like a weak spot.
I think I'll buy 2-3 more of these to have as spares.
It said the 2 AA batteries should last 25 hours. We'll see.
Let you know more as I get some real world experience with it.

Update:
I never could get this thing to lock in like it should.
Tried to use it at the last gig and finally just pulled out the old cord.
Called Carvin, the exchange should arrive today.
Never had any problems with their stuff before.
Hope this all works out.

Update:
After not being able to even get the exchange unit to work I got Carvin to send me a different pigtail to go from guitar to transmitter.
Now it works ... must have been a short?
Need to test it out in some different venues ( outdoors etc )
But so far ... so good.
Carvin's customer service has been exemplary.
Wish I could say the same for UPS
P.S. It also helps if you take the big S&W revolver off your hip.
All that blue steel seems to cause some interference.

My older sons gave me a stainless Rossi 38 with a longer barrel on it for fathers day its a nice little pistol. I keep it in a safe (away from the nosey teenagers) I can just see one of those kick robbers coming in the house and telling me to open that safe. All I'll say is Okie Dokei click BANG NEXT!
thats if they make it that far!
