Not been happy with my present wireless system. Has served me well doing mostly indoors shows but we have been doing more and more outdoor shows at much larger venues and my little wireless just was not getting the job done.

So I ordered this UX16-BP UHF WIRELESS RECEIVER AND BODY PACK TRANSMITTER.

After I've had a chance to put her though the paces I'll do a review thread.

Just hope it comes in while my wife is at work.

I want to go wireless. I don't like the cord nightmares that eventually happen sooner or later(cutting out).

Same here. Every time I "Moon Walk" the cord gets caught in my walker.

For me its the pelvic trust...damn belt snags the cord and yanks it out.

Wireless is the only way to go. I don't mind burning through batteries even to jam. It is just one less cord you have to deal with. It also can give you a real idea of what the band sounds like from out in the audience. I love wireless. If you spend some money on anything this is where to do it and they are not that expensive. In other words... you will never want to play with a cord again.

Just curious. what is the average battery life for your unit and what is it? I thought about digital wireless but they are a bit high priced at the moment.

It's a Nady VH7 that I bought from Guit Center as a demo fo $50. Best $50 I ever spent, plenty of range ,very little if any sound degradation and a battery lasts about 8 hours. I LIIIKKKEEE IT! No I LOOOVVVEEE IT!
I know they have newer models ,probably better but I have no complaints with this one. Heck A good cable can cost as much. I just got as lucky as a hungry fox that broke into a hen house.

I so wish I had the money to spend on one of these. Cant wait to hear your review sans.

I've got the Shure PGX14 system and it works great. I don't use it for practice much, but for shows it's a must. The whole band really moves around all over the place a ton, so cords don't work too well. The advantage of the PGX14 over the cheaper one is that it automatically detects any interference in the signal and transfers to another frequency if needed. That way if Shawn, Jay, and Josh were on my frequency, mine will change to not interfere with theirs either. Although Jay is going back to a wired mic since he loves to do the whole swing the mic all over the place thing...but it looks REALLY COOL when he does that .

You're going to love that setup Sans! Just remember that using a wireless system on a guitar or bass adds a little compression for some reason, but it also helps to inhibit feedback so if you have a gate, then you can turn it down some as to not cut out the clean channel.

Been using my Samson AP1 for a couple of years with good results until recently when we have been doing more outdoors and bigger venues.
Hope this will allow me to not only get farther away during sound check but it would be cool to play the crowd some as well.
Next two shows we have booked this month will both be small areas although one will be outdoors.

When I saw it back in stock that damn credit card just jumped out of my wallet.

I was disappointed with the performance of my Samson at Lake Palestine on the 4th.

The good news is my nurse manager twisted my arm and booked me full time for the next four weeks. I stand to make some pretty decent jack.

WOW. Acording to your CARVIN site my wireless is now illegal. It operates in the 700 mhz range. The 700 mhz range was closed down and sold to make room for cell phones using new G4 tech.

I know this is minor but when the rules keep changing, what do you do?

Does any one understand that this is theft of my right to use my property.
I know I was playing by the rules. Suddenly they all change and you are breaking the law if you use your property.

I guess I am going to have to find a new wireless system because I just found a drummer and once again I may start playing out again. Won't do it without a wireless system.

Without starting a political rant , I am amazed at what our govt is trying to do.
