..or you might go off half cocked and buy over priced musical equipment.

I just got (2) Eminence Copperhead 10", 8 ohm, 75 rms/150 max for 29$ each.

eBay works, but only if you go in with your eyes open. Otherwise you are just wandering in the dark.

Musicians Friend has done the same for me. I have never had a problem with them. I have had orders changed on me though. I bought a mis labeled stand alone recorder from them at an extra low price because it was mis labeled. It was supposed to say Port a Studio and the mislabeled one said Port a stud. I bought it because I wanted to be able to say I owned a Port a Stud. When it arrived it was a brand new Port a Studio for the same price as the mis labeled unit.
Another nice thing about them is that they pay return shipping and even have the return labels printed out so you only have to drop it off.
Once I saw a good deal on sale, and called to order it. None of the sales people could find it under a special. When I called back again, another person answered, and even though they could not find it, she made the deal anyway.
They are #1 in my book.

I, too, am a firm believer in/endorser of Musicians' Friend.

I've bought a dew things there, & returned a few, as well, with never a problem.

Yep.
Musicians Friend and or Carvin.

ebay is confusing and troublesome to me.

Tony ( our B/U vox) shops a lot via ebay and generally does fairly well on quality.
But this is the same guy who got a Fender / Sunn powered mixer two hotspots, two mics and a wad of cables for $50.00 at a garage sale.

Never tried Musicians Friend, but their payment plans are the best I've ever seen.

American Musical Supply is great. Free shipping on most equipment.

Methinks you don't know how to use eBay/paypal etc.

I watched a friend of mine get dunked for 900$ on 2 Nvidia video cards.

He got 300 back. And that's how PAYPAL went out the window.

AS for eBay there are certain strategies about buying and selling.

I don't think anyone wants to hear about that stuff considering it's old hat, right?

You are correct. I don't know how to use ebay or paypal.
Whats more that warrior response I get ( the little hairs on the back of my neck stand up ) tells me trouble is lurking whenever I have attempted to delve into said situation.
So I don't.

You'd be right.

1) ALWAYS make 100% sure of what you are buying, because chances are you won't be able to return it regardless of what the ad states.

2) If you sell on eBay, always add the following clause to bottom of eBay auction.

"I reserve the right to cancel said auction for any reason and at at any time I deem necessary, PERIOD".

That will help.

Oh yeah I forgot, NEVER USE PAYPAL.

I always use US POSTAL MONEY ORDER and UPS GROUND. If a seller can't be persuaded to use both of these, I don't buy anything at all.

Good info, thanks.
I have a variety of objects I should sell so I can buy more equipment for the band.
It's just such a pain in the butt. And I am lazy at heart.

Thought about opening my own shop again. But I just can't stomach the thought of the county ad valorum taxing me annually ( or is it anally ) for stuff I already bought and paid for.
( Bastards even taxed me on the mats I had on the floor in my kwoon )

I'm feeling rather revolutionary today ... sorry.
