I saw Cyndi Lauper last night, my first time seeing her live. She's put together a great blues band of veteran blues players including Charlie Musslewhite on harmonica. She covered tunes by B.B.King, Albert King, Robert Johnson and many other greats. She explained how she researched the old blues players. At the end she did a few of her hits in a blues style and her fans were screaming for more. She scolded them "no, I'm doing this and that's the end of it!" and launched into more blues. She played zither and hammered dulcimer on a few tunes, and came out in the audience and sat on the back of a chair and sang a song (she was probably five feet from me). I was row D center, I almost had to look up because of the high stage at the Soundstage. For fifty plus she looks fabulous and still sounds great.

I can't even imagine Charlie Musselwhite playing with Cyndi Lauper, but apparently it sounded like it worked just fine. Glad you enjoyed it...
