I've been doing originals in my performances for nearly as long as I've been performing, save for a cpl band situations where my material just didn't fit into the program.
Many, many times, I've done ONLY originals, in my solo performances.
It's always worked for me.
I say go for it, bob. Do what you like, & you'll do it better than you would other stuff. That's been a tried & true saying for many ppl for centuries. Bring a bit of yourself into your job, & you do it best, whatever the job may be.
