I usually play a dunlop GCB-95 / Hendrix signature wah. I dont like the thin sound at the high part of the sweep and the pot seems to devlope static really fast making a scratchy sound in the sweep. I wanna try something new for rock/metal, it has to be tight and sound full. What do you like for a wah pedal that sounds good even in the middle of master of puppets?

You hafta remember everyone here is not a guitarist. I would have loved to participate in this poll but I hve no idea WTH these things are. I do know what a wa wa pedal is but I don't know what the differnece is..perhaps post something. If you have something posted, I will check it out.

Think you'll find the wah selection as varied as the players are.
Mine sits in a drawer collecting dust. Don't like the way it colors the sound of my amp even on bypass. Not had the inclination to do any modifications.
Just for conversation sake it is a Dunlop.

The potentiometer's in Dunlop wahs are famous for accumulating dirt and dust, which gives you the scratchies. I prefer wahs that don't use them; the best was my old MuTron volume/wah, didn't use pots. Now I'm using the one that comes with the Boss ME-50 http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetai ... ductId=534

I've used the Morley. I didn't like the separate switch, so I went back to the old standby, the Crybaby.

Call me a poser, but I don't have a wah. I always wanted an original Crybaby. Maybe when I own a chimney Santa will bring me one.

I have been playing with no wah for about 8 months and I like it. The band I am playing with now as very wah-ish so I wanna get a new one. no more cbg-95 for me though cant stand that sound anymore. I would rather save the money and buy sweet boost pedal really.

Tremonti Wah (Morley)

I have had two Crybaby's. I hate 'em. I hate the fact that you have to click them on and off. Plus, they are just made cheap.

What I like about the Morley:

(1) The Morley is built like a tank.

(2) You press to engage it. Way faster and easier to use for solos.

(3) The Tremonti Wah doesn't have the harsh tones of the Crybaby. It's smooth sounding.

I had a cry baby years ago, but I only had it for about two months before I sold it along with the rest of my gear to pay for an attorney. I digress...I wasn't anywhere near where I needed to be from a playing stand point to use a wah properly, but I'm fairly sure I could pull it off now, the Internet wasn't as prevalent back then, so I didn't do any research, are there any decent bass specific wahs, or does it effect the signal regardless of the octave?

Been led to believe that the bass signal is such that a guitar pedal won't last long under the strain.

But you know ... we hear lots of crap that we really don't know to believe it or not.
