What an insulting blanket statement to law enforcement.

My statement?

Racism is alive and well in the police force Klugmo... watch your evening news for the WORST examples, and then realize that for every major violation, there are THOUSANDS of smaller ones, that will not make the news, when no one died or was beaten half to death, and had it caught on video.

I have had black friends ALL MY LIFE, and I KNOW (unlike you apparently) how common these violations are, EVEN NOW!

Sorry I had to leave for a while...I had to share the computer wsith my husband.

Craig, I am glad to hear you say that you had black friends all your life. THe more experience you have with the "dark side" the more credible your comments are. 8) It is true Yes indeed racism is alive and well in the police department. That is why I said what I said regarding the community's responsibility to make racism a crminal offense. Police are human and bring their human frailties to the work force. Many even try to remove their prejudices in order to perform their jobs to the utmost.in a mild comparison, I do not like the music of John Denver, but if I had the opportunity to play it, I will play it well and that's how every cop should perform their job. They aint got ta like me but they have to do their job.

Racism is alive and well everywhere. When Obama became president, the mayor of Los Alamitos in Orange County California , sent an email to the prez that depicted a watermelon patchs in the front yard of the WHite House. Here is the story here: http://totalbuzz.freedomblogging.com/20 ... ist/13675/

This is why we assume racism even if it isn't there. My husband and I got into a big fight over racism about 3 years ago. A 13 year old black boy left his home late in the evening and like an idiot he stole a cop car. He rammed one of the cop cars and was gunned down by a police. A few months later Paris Hilton rammed a cop car cuz she had been drinking and the cops smiled at her and waved her off. I'm just sayin. It is a tough world we live in...it just is. If there were nothing but black folks on this planet, racism would still exist.

Very wise statement Phil.

Everyone here (who commented at least) has deplored racism.

That's a GOOD thing!

In the immortal words of Larry The Cable Guy...

"Now that's funny right there... I don't care who ya are!"

I am not relenting to your view, but I am sorry for the confrontation. As I told Dess in an earlier thread, we have character here and we can get past things that come up and create confusion and
differences. My quest for clear and total facts concerning this interesting story took a left turn and the combined stubbornness of Craig and myself
heated up. Again I am sorry for my part.

Craig, besides being an Arborist. I am a graduate of a Criminal Justice Academy. Hopefully that would explain my persistence about facts.

I had a talk with myself last night while melting ice and have come
to a decision about my participation here. I am going to TRY and
sit on the other end of the see-saw and try the vanilla- conservative- non confrontational approach. I will withhold outbursts of personal thought, choose to bite my tongue and take deep breaths as phil
suggested.

sans I envy your ability to convey deep thought and intuitive meaning
in just a few words.

That's gentlemanly of you Klugmo. :-)

But for the record... I like your barbs and pushing buttons "when" you are obviously doing it to tease and be funny. Please don't stop that part! :-)

Teasing can be misconstrued and may result in a confrontation if the other party doesn't understand me as well as maybe you do.

To change the subject.
I have this song running through my head and can't get it gone.
Ever since Neanderpaul posted a video of his last gig where they
played a song I hadn't heard before that just wont let me go.

Chasing Cars -- Snow Patrol

This song for me is right up my alley when it comes to
doing something Alternative.
I think when I am finished with what i am working on now.
I will use my little Yamaha 4 track and see what I can come up with.

Yes Klumo! It's very catchy and memorable!

Chasing Cars is just a GREAT song! Great in it's simplicity, and powerful in it's emotional and dreamy melody lines, as well as how almost the entire song is one grand crescendo.

I'll tell ya, there are many times I wanna just tear off on someone. I will write a very confrontational post...it would shock you  But then I step back and say "no"...not for noble reasons I tell ya, but because pondering over things will stop the decision to hit submit. Often times I will get my point across without all the screaming. I'm just not a screamer, I guess
