Not going to apologize not one bit for the luxury and prosperity America has gained through the blessings of liberty and ingenuity.
All this bullshit about how we should be ashamed of our prosperity.

Commie bastards can go to hell.

That would have been true 50 years ago, sans.

Since then, we have been reaping the benefits of the third world, at the expense of same.

Now, our situation is dropping to rival theirs, instead of continuing on the upswing, & Americans are panicking, while those we trusted, the ones responsible for it all in the uppermost gov't & corporate positions, are the only ones reaping all the benefits that remain.

Resources are dwindling, & we are effectively destroying even more in our drive to find that never-ending source of oil. Very soon, seafood prices will hit all-time highs, as the effects of the Gulf debacle start to hit home. And that will only be the beginning. How much more will we destroy as we seek to continue to use it up faster than anyone else?

Our housing developments are STILL being built around the concept of personal cars, rather than the close-knit micro-societies that exist so commonly elsewhere on the planet. We will find ourselves cut off from our food, when the last drop of oil is sucked out of the ground.

Imho, Americans are about the stupidest ppl in the world, when it comes to proper planning & community life. We've become downright anti-community in our zeal to be personally independent, even as we ignore the need to rely on the oil industry, the entertainment industry, the medical & pharmaceutical industries, etc etc etc, to remain so "independent." We even brag about how independent we are, as we bitch & moan about how much these dwindling resources cost us, as our state & fed gov'ts keep upping the taxes to feed the machine at the cost of the populace.

There isn't but a damned few of us that can exist without all of it, at this point.

I believe the rest of the world will be in much better shape to handle the events that are coming, cuz we're just too f*cking stupid to see anything beyond the ends of our own noses. And through it all, we just keep ignoring the need to do things differently, cuz that just ain't the American way, is it? No, we'll continue on the same old road until it runs out at that truly DEAD end.

We'll just plan on taking everything at the point of a gun when it all comes crashing down, cuz THAT is the American way, ain't it? We're doing our very best to assure ourselves of that, anyway. God help us all when they come to take the guns, right?

Rest assured that it's coming.

When Obastard and his bitch quit flying everywhere and spending tens of thousands of dollars on our military jets for a "date" and then start driving compact cars everywhere, I might listen to his liberal communist bullshit. Same with Reed and the rest of those little self absorbed pukey little piece of sh*t dictators who believe we should live in poverty while they fly their buddy's all over the world for party's and fund raisers. All the time while dodging their taxes and filling their pockets with kickbacks bought with our taxes.

We were given the constitutional right to bear arms so we could get rid of big out of control governments that rob us in while we sleep. Or doesn't anyone remember that. I know they quit teaching it in the propaganda mills. I mean public screlwels.

Sometimes I think they try to piss me off on purpose.

By George I think you got it Philbymon

We all complain about government waste and nobody notices people's waste inherent in our way of life dictated by corporate America, our way of life as it is not sustainable in the long run and to equate prosperity to waste and inefficiency is sheer lunacy.

I don't disagree with Glen, Sans and Slacker the points concerning the government are valid IMO after all I pay &11.000 per year just in property taxes but the angry way in which their views are expressed makes them look like (sorry guys) nut jobs.

Nav Believe me I am far from a nut job and if you want to go hang yourself from a tree for a home and pick mushrooms for dinner I have no right to stop you . I just hope they dont overcharge your taxes if you decde to swing on a different branch.
Angry. Angry. As I get older and some of the people here have helped me understand this even better...... Anger is a wasted emotion, it only makes you feel better for a moment. Anger is what causes you to lose focus on your goals. What may sound like anger is just common sense not allowing anger to be spewed by propoganda.

This is just one lifes pleasures, learning.

Well, when the gov't steps up to the plate like it SHOULD, & forces the corporate world to stop creating trash & the potential for this type of huge global disaster, then I'll be impressed.

It'd be nice to see those tv repair shops reopening.

It'd be nice to see bottled water become a thing of the horrid past.

It'd be nice to see a return to compostable packaging.

It'd be nice to see the EPA, OSHA, & other regulating agencies handling corporate stuff, so that events like the Gulf spill can not recur.

Unfortunately, since our gov't is owned by those corporate entities, that ain't gonna happen anytime soon, unless WE can wrench it from their grubby filthy greedy fingers. How many other potential global disasters have we dodged by pure luck, since we lost control of our gov't? How many have occurred, that haven't been reported or discovered by the corporate-owned media? I suspect that there are many other events that we should have been told, but haven't been, that are just as detrimentally impactful as the Gulf spill.

Mark my words - if we get this thing shut down anytime soon, ppl will forget about it within 2 years, & the potential for similar events will continue unabated, as long as the corporate world owns our gov't & our "free" media. And you'd better believe that they will be doing all they can to assure that that's what happens, so they can continue to reap their ill-gotten gains at the expense of our health & environment, because a corporation has no soul, no conscience, & lately, no oversight from the powers that they own.

Ppl keep talking about BP as if they were the only negligent oil co out there.

I saw on the Daily Show that Exxon, Phillips Petroleum, Mobile, virtually ALL of the big oil producers use exactly the same back-up plans, as well as the same original plans in their off-shore drilling.

This was gonna happen, no matter which big corporation caused it, & the gov't, who is supposed to be protecting us & our environment from the unscrupulous business practices of these co's, is just sitting on its laurels, doing nothing to regulate them.

Wtf?

Do I hafta go to Washington & straighten out this sh*t?

Who's going with me?

I just thank God that we have music to fall back to. It keeps us all sane.

So which one of you "rich" people are going to sell your guitar so some third worlder can have a play station.

Seriously though.

Who do you trust to draw the line of distinction of what is wasteful ?
Of what is right for you to posses by your hard work and what is not ???

No it is not charity or benevolence if it is forced at gunpoint.

I've never been employed by a poor man.

We have made tremendous strides in recycling. Once again the evil American arises.
Philby is absolutely right about seperating corporate America from Washington.
The other problem is to make certain that Govt at all levels is not allowed to pass arbitrary and capricious laws that affect Americans at all levels.

Phil has raised a most important point; Do you want a corporate dictator or an elected dictator. This is AMERICA and neither are acceptable.

BP and Washington are proving this out, right now.

I was listening to an analyst on taxes in this country and he was trying to say that we are only paying 11.12%. [ This wasn't on fox, but a very open minded station] Even God Only asks for 10.

Phil is right, its time to go to Washington before the NRA signs on to limit our right to free speech to protect our right to arms. I bet nobody knows about that one.
