So, how many popular rock songs are written in 3/4 time?

Nothing political. Nothing to argue about. I'm just curious how many tunes you can think of that made it, say, in the top 100, that were 3/4 sigs.

I'll start off with "Lucky Man," by ELP.

Take it away, folks!

Well, you said "popular" and this wasn't but what they hey....

"3/4" Moby Grape, on the ill fated second album. Like most of the stuff on that record, it has a beautiful start and then degenerates into chaos or boredom. Nice beginning though.

I didn't include "Hollywood Waltz" because it wasn't a hit. I do like that song however. Both are on the same album "One of These Nights".

The song "Saturday Night" from "Desperado" is also a waltz, but it also was not a hit.

I was thinking manic depression.

Kiss From A Rose, by Seal...I love jazz and rock waltzes.
Seal sings a lot of songs in 3/4 time. As a matter of fact he did a cover of Manic Depression on the JH Tribute CD several years ago.
