Hey Slacker, I put the Sky Down solo in my profile so you guys could take a listen.

Like I said, not much to it, but Ive had people come up to me and say it gives them goose-bumps live. That's the biggest compliment I think a musician can get.

Keep in mind the solo starts with the swells at the end of the melodica. I do that live as well.

Anyway, tell me what you think.

I'm not taking sides, I'm not trying to stroke Shredd's ego. I got chills that started on my head, then arms then legs. When the solo jumped up the octave the chills came back. This is a clear example of less is more. I'm not kidding.

I thought it was darned good. The best of three posted.
No chills or goosebumps though.

Paul, Glen, Slacker, GT, thanks for the props and for listening. Thanks to Sean too, I still hold the same value to his opinions as well.

You know, you learn so much from every recording. Especially the ones you pay for. There are things I would change if I were to do it all over. I tried switching up solo sounds, and with Jah Soldier I went for a nasty gritty single coil sound. I guess it's part of the culture out here in Vegas right now in the underground scene. There's a lot of psychobilly and nasty blues stuff going on around here and like anything else you sometimes want to do something in the same lines as the scene you're in.. But If I had to do it over again, I would have probably stayed with one of the humbucker guitars I used on the other solos.

I think Sky Down really captured that nastiness better. It was recorded with an Ibanez RG with a Steve's Special bridge humbucker.

Just to show I have a good sense of humor about it all. TRUE STORY. My cat hates the Sky Down solo. I guess to him it sounds like a cat in distress in the first part of it. He meows at me in a real worried manner when I play it on my computer.

I see that you've got something goin' with Colors and a couple of others here, but to state it as a challenge...it kind of makes me LOL.

Sean is just searching for validation. I don't know why; that's an internal thing. Maybe a therapist could tell you why he needs validation so badly.

I just get tired of him posting the SAME videos over and over. Seen 'em a few times now. Same sh*t; nothing new and nothing inspiring. Nothing to compliment a song. It's just wanking over and over. Tricks without context.

That's the worst thing - it's all without context. Sean claims to be a big EVH fan, but Eddie did everything (except Eruption) in the context of a SONG. Eddie's solos served the song; they made the song better.

Sean's solos just serve Sean's ego.

And I still haven't seen him with a real band. It's all sh*t in his basement; backing tracks laying low so he can play tricks over the top. Neato.

I'm interested in music. I can get all the tricks I can stand by watching instructional videos.

People like this have always made me laugh and at the same time feel bad for them by the same token. I can only hope for his sake that he learns how to work with other people and put his ego aside because the ego is soooooooooooooooo unwarranted that it's ridiculous. Not putting him down at all...just stating the obvious because I feel bad for him for some reason.

The last person that said they wanted to solo over the top of something I wrote got punched the f**k out.

Yea, I did get a little of a laugh out of it. I kind of took the high road in responding. In all honesty, I really don't have a backing track type of recording like what he was asking for.

Just to clear about that kind of thing with anyone else. I don't have the RIGHT in my mind to even provide that to someone. There is a whole band involved with HaleAmano. Technically it is my song, but this is in reality a Haleamano song. I would be doing the other band-members a great disservice by letting someone have that kind of a version to do their own thing with it without the band's permission. Which in a case like this, I would be a total douche for even asking them. Our CD isn't even out yet. There would be literally NOTHING for me or the band to gain from it. So yea, it is kind of funny.

By the way, I WILL have the finished product, in hand, this Friday. Coincidentally, it's the same day KORN will be coming to town to play a show. Talk about great timing. For those who don't know, they are long-time friends of mine. It'll be cool to give them a few copies to trip out on.
