If you're taking minors into your business venture with the bar, you're showing the bar that you have zero respect for their existence, because they can be shut down if they get caught with a minor in there, in my state, even if it's only once.

That's about the stupidest thing a band can do, imho. Sorry to disagree, Zip, but that's how I see it.

Let word get around that you got a bar busted over something as dumb as wanting to have a minor play in your band, & you won't be playing any more bars, EVER, around here. Word gets around about that kind of sh*t.

I would NEVER take chances with someone else's ability to do business. My momma & daddy would rise up from their graves & kick my ass into infinity if I did something so disrespectful.

Good point Phil. Age is irrelevant where we play so I don't even take it into consideration.

I've heard from a fellow musician who has already had issues with their band in and around Tampa with this issue, so yes, it would be a big deal here. I really appreciate all of your advice on this guys, we're more than likely going to go with Tom, and try and help the kid find a gig, with solid recommendations, of course, I'm somewhat speaking out of turn, still have to have that band meeting on this. Thanks guys!

just keep the kid in reserve..

You can practice with him and he'll get older if you guys last the 3 years, you even have someone else to fill in for TOM if he shits the bed, AGAIN.
