Jimmy you talk about the Farleys drummer setting up backwards, there used to be a band around Memphis, they played funk music but the drummer set up sideways, you were looking at his left elbow all night. I asked him about it and he just said on room they played in it was the only way to get his kit in there and after that he just started setting up that way everywhere.

This same guy would wear this weird egyptian looking stage clothes and hats

It's funny, & I wonder who else has this problem - whenever there are footllights, I lose my place as soon as I look at my guitar! The reversed shadows flook me up, & I can't for the life of me determine where I am on the neck.

I guess I'm gonna hafta practice with footlights, huh? Strobes can flook me up, too.

Does this affect anyone else like this, or am I just weird?

Oh your weird alright!

It's not something I have even taken into consideration.

Best do some more thinking and experimentation.

Damn Phil, I knew you were good for something.

I wore a headlight at a 4th of July show one year so I could see my fretboard.
I looked like a cyclopes in some of the photos.

LOL. sans! Playing outside in only flickering firelight can produce some rather interesting mistakes from me, too!

I see your point, JW.

It's hard to believe that the venues can't see the advantages of hiring & paying for the quality perforners that bring the ppl!

I wish there was a way to make use of that lightning ball effect without shocking the crap outta yourself or ruining some electronics.
It would be cool to have a clear guitar with the lightning stuff going on inside it.

Check out these photos!!

This is Feelgood's in Las Vegas. It's a few blocks from my house. We played this bar last month. The lighting and sound is the best we've ever played for a smaller venue. UN FREAKING BELIEVABLE !!!!

Vince Neil knows how to make a freaking bar dude!! This place is 5-stars for a musical experience.

Damn, shredd! That looks so cool!

We had a place in Frederick, MD, that was nice. Smaller in scale than that one of yours, for sure, but still pretty big. I saw Eddie Money there a few years ago. They had these huge sculptures of dragons & sharks & such hanging from the ceiling & coming through the walls. Excellent stage & lighting. Great sound system.

It's closed recently, of course. Lack of interest? Poor managing? Who knows - it's going on everywhere out here, wherever there's a good venue for music. All that replece them are the gambling joints.
