This is badass, Craig!!!

Stairway to Heaven is, in itself, a cool song. I am glad to hear this as a MJB / Oriantha project. I am glad that it didn't sound like an imitation of Led Zepelin.

When it comes to art, men and women are absolutely equal.

Or perhaps it would be OK to then say men are better at politics than women?

Know what I mean?

Nah, women make better politicians. Theyre better at telling lies.

When it comes to art, no one is equal.

Oh, and by the way, 'equal' does not mean 'the same' in that context. It means that individual strengths and weaknesses balance out over the long haul.

Yeah, me too!

I loved it!!!

I can't stand seeing artists, COPYING someone else's song, using their precise arrangement. Save that for the bars. Not for syndicated television or albums!

Mary J., made it hers, and brought some soul into it. That's what a STAR should do, when they cover other artists... MAKE IT THEIR OWN!

Go look for the video, cause it was even more fun SEEING the performance!

JUST FOUND IT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_TaGBRORwo

I loved when Mary J., sang with Bono too!

She brings that deep emotion and soul to EVERYTHING she does! She was my new "Anita Baker" when she hit it big! ;-)

If my wife leaves me... Mary J.'s my future wife...

Well, unless one of these is free again by then...

I saw that tour, it was very good. When is Beck not good?

I would have loved to see him back in the Rod Stewart days.

Yeah, I remember her name now!

Thanks!

That was pretty much all Beck, but she is a really good guitarist, no doubt!

Beck is just INSANE though, isn't he?

He's one of the most well-rounded guitarists I know of. He can do almost anything, lead or rhythmically! And always puts his own style in there!

Phenomenal!

Shes awesome. I saw Beck with Batton in Nashville a few years back.

Heres a link to Orianthi and Vai doing a cool duet.

You are soooo welcome!

Please go check out that Joss Stone video from last night too, and tell me, if she is not one of the great soul voices of recent times!

Joss Stone and I have the same birth dates. :? I will watch the video in its entirety tonight.

If I am not mistaken, there is a tear on MJB's cheek.

jimmydanger wrote:The music industry says it's OK for women to play acoustic guitar. But the lead guitar is a phallic symbol and it's almost porn to watch a woman rip up a good lead. Ever heard of musical masturbation?

I know I'm going to take grief for this, I'm not some Neanderthal sexist pig, and I welcome links that would prove me wrong, but I have never heard a woman play a solo that at best didn't make me think "pretty good for a girl". I'm not talking about shredding which I think this Orianthi does better than a lot of guys. I'm talking about that real muscular, meat and potatoes hard rock style of lead like a Paul Kossoff, or Angus Young solo. Neither of those guys is known as a real speed demon, but there is something in the aggressive way they attack they fretboard, and their shivering vibratos that sorry to say, I've never heard a lady approach yet. Like I said, I would love love to hear a link that proves I'm full of crap
