But spelling in and of itself was but an opinion of how a word should look.
It in no way invalidates let us say as example, the old English spelling.

IE who's to say Webster was right ??

Language is one of the things that sets us apart from the animals. Correct usage of language arts, including spelling, grammar and writing ability is what many people use to rank others. Spell one word wrong on your resume and you will not get an interview. There's just no excuse these days with spell check and the internet. Laziness is the only thing that can explain poor language skills.
