As far as amp prices there are some really cool lowend amps out there in the $200 range that do an awesome job. Of course like anything you can spend as much as you want.

I bought my old Sunn Model T head back in 77 I think it was for $799, I think the Marshalls at the time were around 1000-1200 for a head.

I bought my Mesa Subway Rocket around 12 yrs ago for $500, it is a tone machine. I forgot but i did buy it new, it was just a spontaneous buy at the time and Ive been glad every since that I bought it.

I think the tone and quality of lower end equipment is much better than it was 20 yrs ago. You can get some awesome equipment for small amounts of money, so I dont understand what this thread is about.

Just as some positive reinforcement.. i had a beautiful mid 60s Fender twin reverb, played awesomely, but had stopped playing much, and my then wife convinced me to sell it to her music-teacher ex husband to the tune of 250 bucks... years later im still kicking myself for letting it go, after seeing the used prices for those things in the thousand dollar bracket... Moral of the story.. think before ya sell !!! lol
