The answer to this question is: it depends.

Lately, at work (software developer) I have been listening to a lot of Imogen Heap/Frou Frou/Stars and similar music.

Sometimes it's my iPod on random.

Sometimes it's a heavy dose of progressive rock (Rush, Dream Theater, Enchant).

When I used to play MMORPG's like Everquest, I would listen to the three Lord of the Rings soundtracks on repeat.

When I am writing, it's usually something super ethereal like Cliff Martinez' soundtrack to Solaris (one of my favorites). I also like writing to Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack. And Toto's Dune soundtrack.


So, yeah... it depends.

Dam all you software developer guys!

Oh boy,
I don't listen to music if I'm doing ANYTHING else.
I get too involved in the music and can't do anything else.
Took girl to club with jazz band...girl mad because I forgot her once the band started playing. Not good for sex life.

If she played an instrument in that band she would have kept your attention. So it's her fault.

I keep my computer on Pandora... my stations there include the artists: Plumb, Tristania, Lacuna Coil, and Lady Gaga. My favorite one is Lacuna Coil, though. Then I can sing along!!

When I'm on the computer I mostly just play my stereo. In my CD player I have different variety of artists like Christina Aguleria, John Mayer, Sade, Solange Knowles, Love Jones SDTK, Queen Latifah, DMx, Jon B, and etc. Sometimes I'll listen to AOL music and when I do I like to listen to the jazz station, 90's music (the pop, alternative, and R&B and rap).

I listen to WDVX web cast a lot, but I mix it up. Lots of genres.
