If you could get the sound of a studio at home, would you record at home?

Recording in Maryland, DC, VA area. Our studio will go where you go. Concert, basement, dorm or church and more. Concentrate on your craft... making music. Let us do the rest.

to have a professional studio record you live. There's been so many times I wish we had recorded a show. Eventually I'd like to have a CD with a mix of studio and live cuts, covers and originals. It's been my experience that it's worth the money to let a pro record you. I barely have enough time to learn the songs and get a band together, let alone learn all there is to record everything. There's a studio in town that's very reasonable that does a great job in very little time, makes my life a lot easier. To me it's well worth it. Saves me more time to go fishing. Later...

When I was with Stonecircle, the first album I did with them was called "Alchemy" and it was recorded in a five level home because of the acoustics. Our management company (Lodestar Productions) hired a first rate recording studio to go mobile and record us there. A string of vans showed up with all sorts of equipment, and it took a good day or two just to set it up and get working sound environments before we recorded.

It was quite a sight to behold, and it led to a really nice recording, but man did it ever look like a pain in the ass for the recording company. I don't think I'd ever do it.
