Help Marcel's life saving journey begin!
We are looking for musicians who would be interested in donating their time to perform at a fundraiser for Marcel Bouchaud's battle with terminal Brain Cancer. The fund raiser is being held on Sunday March 1st, at the Port Colts FC, Murphey's reserve, Williamstown rd, Port melbourne. Below is Marcel's story;
Marcel Bouchaud is a 33 year old, fun loving, generous and big hearted young man with a full filling life ahead of him. Marcel is very fit and likes to spend his spare time doing activities such as gym, ocean swimming, running and walking with his partnerShalini.
Marcel's story began in November 2014 when after experiencing multiple seizures in a 6 week period that each time rendered him unconscious for hours, and unable to identify who he was! Where he lived, what country he is in, or what year it was. After many tests and eventually brain surgey, it was unfortunately discovered that Marcel has been diagnosed with stage 3 Glioblastoma (Anaplastic Astrocytoma), a highly aggressive, malignant Brain Tumour that due to its diffuse nature, is inoperable.
The doctors have told Marcel that he has a life expectancy of two years, but we remain positive and pray modern medicine finds a way to slow the process or cure.
Due to Marcel’s deteriorating condition Shalini his partner has taken on the role of full time care taker which has reputed in both he and Shalini being unable to work and being lumbered with increasing medical and treatment costs in addition to his everyday living expenses. Marcel would like to spend the time has left, full filling his "Bucket List" which involves travelling to Darwin. His family would like to see him enjoying every moment he has here, however long that may be, by doing the things that most people do in a life time and possibly will take for granted.
