Can anybody advise some website which helps bands in promoting? I’d like to make my band more popular. Somebody gave me a link on artistecard.com. Does anybody use their services? Maybe someone knows other sites, something affordable?

There's plenty of sites out there, but really they are just about taking your money and giving you false numbers to show how much they did. Face it - does 1000 Facebook 'likes' stuffed onto the page really make you more popular?

I don't endorse any of these sites necessarily:

1. Places to upload your music:

2. This owner of a pool company has some great real-world ideas about marketing

3. Self-promotion basics

I also find that CDbaby posts great ideas for DIY bands every day. You don't have to pay anything to read their blogs that keep you up-to-date on developments in the biz world.

But the absolute best way to promote your band is to play live often and everywhere. Don't be afraid to let your fans know you need help, and you'll find that everyone wants to help.

Blessings on ya!
