TRADEMARKING A BAND NAME

Has anyone ever trademarked their band name ?
There seem to be a few sites out there that do that .... the fee's go from cheap to expensive .....
Anyone have any advice ?

You're better off getting an attorney to do it because, if they mess up or do something wrong, you can sue them for malpractice, most of those websites contain covenants not to sue in their terms and conditions. Plus if you have to sue for infringement, you'll already have an attorney on board. check out www.fredericklivingston.com

We were talking about that at the gig the other night. Trademarks have to be registered in each state separately, from what others said.

I'm not sure if it is necessary to go through all this trouble unless your band (and band name) are quite known/famous already. OR unless you are sure that you plan on using THIS band name for a long time (and won't change it or get into another band 6 months from now etc).

Just my 2 cents.
