Thursday, August 23, 2007 - The Yardbirds at The Magic Bag. We missed the warm up act, but heard they were pretty good; I guess they did covers of "All Along The Watchtower" and "Black Magic Woman". The Yardbirds didn't go on until well after 10pm. Chris Dreja (guitar) and Jim McCarty (drums) are the only original members still in the band. The lead guitarist's name was Ben King and he was pretty good. The bass player was originally from Detroit and was great, doing 80% of the lead vocals. They played all of their cool tunes, and I ended up buying their new CD "Live at BB King Blues Club". I'm going on a couple hours of sleep but it was worth it.

Yardbirds deserve a couple!

Yardbirds deserve a couple of Post to this thread. The cover band I am playing in just added "Heart Full Of Soul". It was what we call an "easy add" and it goes over great with the baby boomers. Easy great sounding vocals.
