ck em out!

I uploaded a couple songs on bandmix. The mp3s loose a crap load of high end, like no cymbals. I don't know why cause the wave files sound great. Anyway, these songs were perfomed on Worlds Only ELECTRIC DRUMS alone, no other instruments except cymbals an vocals. Kit was miced same as acoustic.

Yeah, you need to fix that. It doesn't sound good, man.

Out of curiosity, how are you micing and mixing your recordings? You shouldn't be losing that much treble just by lossy compression. Also, your drums could use a bit of tuning or something. There's a terrible ringing sound from what seems to be your snare. =/

As I said in the previous post, they were mic'ed same as acoustic. I used 57's an cheap oktavia. The tracks are very clear on the wave file cd but the mpeg3 conversion is tearin up the high, makes things sound like bee's. The ELECTRIC DRUMS are the only instrument on the songs, and the snare is not supposed to be plain. When I figure out the conversion problems I will repost.

Hmm, could you maybe show me a picture of your drum mic setup? Are you using software or analog recording?

About the conversion issue, what sample rate are you using? When you convert, it's best to pick the highest sample rate you can so the software can more accurately represent the signal it's converting.

I'm using digital hard drive recording, then loaded to and mixed on cubase. The mic's are set up pretty normal studio style. The conversion was on my windows media. It was the first time I did it with just audio. I usually do a video & audio and convert with a video program and the mpeg audio comes out more like the wav. sounds. I have noticed other people's mp3 of signed bands sometime have the bee's in the high end also but not as much as mine did.
