just ordered one wont be in till the first week of sep . ive got alot of processers and have been working on my sound for ever i got a really great metal sound out of my boss gt8 took a while but i got it . but with the new amp i was told by fellow guitarist that this head is so nasty i wont need it is that true will i have to go back to stomp boxes?

You should be alright without the stomp-boxes. But the stock preamp tubes won't do you any favors. You should put an NOS RCA, or RFT preamp tube in your V1 at the very least.

It is my experience that you can never get too far from whatever sound you are using.

If you can get it from your head alone, fine. I kind of doubt it though. Keep the boxes and wait, you never know.
