I have an old string type capo, but I don't use it. Hell, I think the slide feels alien enough, let alone a capo..

Slide=yes capo=no

Capos are not just for beginners, BC.

Check out some of David Wilcox' amazing playing. I saw him once in VA, & at one point he had 3 capos on his guitar simultaneously. He had some of them cut out in certain places & was playing behind some of them. What a creative guy.

He doesn't do too much electric work, but when he does, it's kinda mellow & melodic, from what I've heard.

I've seen a cpl 'lectric guys using 'em, & it worked out ok for them, esp for open chording stuff, as well as on some interesting lead work.

I use a capo all the time. If you sing and play guitar... it's real handy.
I could re-learn each song in ten dif keys or just use bar chords to play it... but the capo allows me to use open chords and original voicings but play in a dif key without retuning or using pitch shift software.
I can't imagine any other use for it... and with the new ones that allow one to simulate drop tuning... the possibilities are endless for slide.
