4G is not a lot of RAM once you start using a lot of plug-ins. Consider only running things like the tape saturation on the master tracks after mix down.
I tried Harrison Mixbus, they had a deal to get the basic set up for $29 a couple of years ago. Thought the workflow was a little clunky on it. I was most interested in using it for mastering, but don't think it offered anymore than what I've got with Reaper. The second time I went to use it I got an error message that said I needed 'Jack' installed - which WAS installed (and I reinstalled it, just in case) and HMb still wouldn't run.
