Live sound in venues

Hi I was wondering if someone could help. Has anyone experience of transmitting the sound from say 2 guitar amplifiers to an in house system in a pub/restaurant. The idea being that the peformance volume doesn't have to be as loud as it will be spread around the venues speakers.
Limiting factors would be distance from the playing area (guitar amps) to the 3.5mm input.
Any ideas would be really welcome.
Thanks in advance

The biggest problem is. The house system could be a 70v speaker array and the hum will kill your whole setup.

What are you using for guitars, electrics or acoustics? Your best bet for electrics would be a modeller or preamp of some sort. The same is probably true with the acoustics. I'm using a Zoom A3 with acoustics and getting really good results running through that into a PA. It even has some effects built in like reverb & delay so everything you need is right in the pedal to get a nice full, natural sounding tone. I'm really happy with it. it was a total game changer for me.

Here are a few clips done with it into a PA ( cell phone recording but you can still tell how well it works).
