Alrighty, so basically from what I've gathered I need an audio interface to connect my studio monitors to my computer. My question was this, will any interface suffice? As long as it has the correct inputs and outputs everything is gravy right? (Powered monitors btw.) here's one that I was looking at BEHRINGER U-CONTROL UCA222 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0023BYDHK/re ... EwbA511RTD

Are you planning on recording, or you just want to hook up some powered speakers? IF you want to do recording, then, yes, you need an audio interface, which acts as both analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog soundcard (replacing the one in our computer, but externally). On the other hand, if you just want to use your monitors to listen to online music/sounds.etc, then you can just use the stereo lin-out from your computer, suitably adapted.

The Behr is a bare-bones minimum audio interface, but will work for learning what more you will need for home recording.

Have a look at the PreSonus Audiobox USB too. It's small and portable, has lots of connectors and doesn't sound half bad either !
