Humble man needs instruction!

Hi guys! I've been playing music for a while now, but only recently have I been interested in recording. As a guitar player, I was always content with just playing and jamming, but now I've started to really get into more electronic types of rock/pop. I recently picked up a nice little stash of equipment, but I'm at a loss. I can get most of it to play out of the monitors, but not record(and vice versa) I'm basically throwing darts and getting lucky sometimes.

In a perfect world, I can list my equipment and hope that one of you is my Obi Wan!

Any feedback or suggestions would be awesome! Thanks in advance.

I have...
Logic Pro x and GarageBand(I understand the basics, I think)
Fender Strat(2)
usb condenser mic
Line 6 Midi Controller
Korg microKorgXL Synth/Vocoder
Focusrite Scarlett Solo USB interface
Korg kaoss pad

I also have a decent collection of amps and monitors.

I'm new to this type of technology and I don't know many people where I just moved. Anyone want to help guide me a bit?

One thing, for a start - you cannot use BOTH the USB mic and the Scarlett at the same time - your computer will only recognize one sound device at a time. I'd recommend dumping the USB mic and getting a regular mic with XLR connection to use INTO the Scarlett, let that be your audio interface.
In Logic or GB, you select the Scarlett as your audio input and output device (assume you have downloaded the correct drivers for the device).
Work on recording some audio first, then start looking at adding the MIDI stuff.

Check out the forums at homerecording.com for lots of useful home recording info.

'Artccessories' makes a nice preamp for recording into your computer.
$100; very clean;
It has two mike inputs and two 1/4" inputs, each adjustable by 48dB.
It has a couple 1/4' output (use an adapter to plug into the computer's microphone input).
It has a monitor output, too.
$100; worth every penny.
