I have a Tri cone National steel guitar, I have heavy gauge strings on it, I was wondering IF I could put light guage electrics on it, I have a Highlander EQ and the Highlander pickup on the Guitar. I have put electric strings on a classical guitar and it was great, but wondering if it is OK to put on a National Steel Tri cone

I'm not sure about that, but:
If you have a classical guitar which originally had nylon strings, and you then replaced them with steel strings, you should keep a real close eye on the neck.
Yeah, I hate nylon strings, too, but you just increaed the pressure on the neck 10-fold . . . watch for bowing . . .
