Now I remember why I bought the Carvin V3M. I have decided I am going to use the V3M for my dirty sounds and the Crate Palomino for clean sounds. My question to you good folks is which ABY amp switching pedal do you like and why. I am leaning toward the Tonebone amp switching pedal because it is under $100.00 seems like it is well built and has a buffer for one of the channels and a ground switch! PLEASE any advise would be much appreciated and thanks in advance!
Morley works fine for me.
But, our setup is a little unusual too.
Separate “hi-fi” and “lo-fi” vocal mics are run through effects.
My guitars are tuned down to “Drop A”, like a baritone.
I run my basses and guitars through the same rig.
The signal is split 3 ways; high & dirty frequencies through a guitar amp/preamp, mostly clean & low frequencies through a bass amp/preamp w/ some occasional fuzz & distortion pedals for extra clipping, other pedalboard effects go direct to PA via Line 6 BASS POD XT LIVE.
I like octave effects quite a bit.
A foot-controlled Dictaphone machine plays prepared tapes.
I keep a crappy Salvation Army drum kit at a friend’s house in Hamtramck…The Shitkit.
I was gonna add pieces of scrap metal & junk to it and maybe upgrade it as I went along.
Kinda like Pu$$y Galore, Einsturzende Neubauten, Skeleton Key, etc.
But, I’m a terrible drummer.
I suck.
My girlfriend's setup is a little bit simpler; just keyboards and guitars through her keyboard amp via Line 6 POD XT LIVE.
Some of our gear is too bulky, expensive, or fragile to be taking to gigs.
Like some of her keyboards.
So, we may burn those onto some backing track CDs and get a CD/MP3 DJ turntable.
Some of our gear needs repairs & uprades; PA's and amps with bad channels, loose pots, etc.
But, we can do that as we go along.
