I was thinking about getting a Blackberry phone.

It's a horror story out here about all the bullshit that goes on with those dimwits/RIM in this area

Customer Service is non-existent or surly. (uh-huh)

If your phone stops holding a charge after 3 months, they don't care.
They tell you to buy a new battery or the give you a replacement that is already used and more than likely, behaves in a worse manner.

I've tried the pearl and the torch and they are pathetic.
They don't even hit the scale hard enough to reach "bad". (imo)

Anyone actually have one they like immensely>?
A model BB that you like enough to recommend?

I was looking at someone's used BB Bold 9780 but my spider sense is tingling and it's telling me I am about as close to being ripped off as I get. lol

The 9330 seems to be an option as well.. (tingle-tingle)

8520? 8530? 8830? 9300? 9780?

I am just looking to run it on Verizon or unlock it.
I need 3G and WIFI, but that's really about it.

I checked out a world phone (8830), not sure if that's overkill or not.

Does anyone know firsthand?

I def do not need the new one. I've heard bad things about upgrading the firmware as well. That's just awful.
