Not too sure what you mean by "off brand".

most of my PA gear is Carvin. Most "casual" musician types have never heard of Carvin.

It's professional quality gear and to some it's " off brand ".

What do you mean by off-brand? Guess the guitar brand used for all the guitar tracks in my video song 'On The Edge' (video in my profile or here: http://youtu.be/NK1wrN7qc-8 )

(You never will guess, definitely off-brand!)

You mean like this guys guitar? One of my friends was his guitar tech for 10 years. He had pretty weird looking stuff.

Guitars are just tools for makin' music. If you found one that works... use it. Never let some golden-ears-brand-snob tell you it's no good.

I've used plenty. Univox Strat, my current Cort CL 1500, tele copy with no name tag, 1966 Harmony, a Lotus Les Paul copy I wish I hadn't sold 20 years ago, several other non Gibson/Fender guitars, a couple of oddball amps, a Conn sax, (ok maybe not all that "off brand" but most sax players want Buescher or Selmer Paris) a Lotus strat style guitar, a couple of Ibanez guitars way back when they made nothing but copies...

I sold a Washburn guitar a couple of years ago and another no name tele (I wish I hadn't sold either one) and always keep an eye open for off brand stuff that plays and sounds good.

I don't care that much what name is on the label, if it plays and sounds good I use it.

I was referring to "off brand", like up and coming guitar, pick up and after market companies that offer great gear for less.
I found two great pick up and accessory- after market suppliers like GFS and TnT Guitars aka www.guitarpartsonline.com
The pick ups are really good, as good or better than Dimarzio and Seymore Duncan. I was really surprised by the quality from those two after market companies. 8)

Not really a gear thread but I came across this site the other day.
They have a huge assortment of snakes and even will build custom.

Worth a look at their other gear when we have some time.
