Buying a Bass

I'm going to play bass guitar for my school's band. I need to buy a bass and an amp. However, my parents don't have the money to pay for my instrument. I've already sold my 2 guitars and all of the unwanted junk I own, however I'm still $400 dollars short. Any donations would really help. i'm reaching out to you on Band Mix because I believe that fellow musicians such as yourselves will understand what it is that I'm going through with not being able to afford equipment.
