A friend of mine just gave me a SNARK for Xmas.

(I hope he isn't saying I am chronically out of tune)

The good news is that it's fing amazing. You get the "all instrument tuner" version and it has a switch to go from vibration to mic. (very handy)

The vibration setting allows you to tune even in a packed room.
The mic setting allows you to tune everything else that isn't clamp suitable.
(it uses a spring loaded clamp)

In short, I am shocked as to how good it is and I only wish I had one before this.

I can't even convey how easy and accurate this is to use..
If I lost mine, I'd go buy another..try it, you'll like it.

That is a cool tuner! I have not heard of it! (starting to tremble and sweat) got to get me one of these!

I got one and I'm not all that impressed with it's accuracy. I tune with it and then with the built-in tuner of a Bose mixer and it shows to be off a quarter tone (and it is).

Why would you tune with a tuner
you deem to be inaccurate, and then
retune with another tuner. Am I missing
something?

Got the Snark only a month ago because I'd lost my Intellitune (another clip on version)

I'd hear a string out of tune but it would show to be tuned on the Snark so after a while of that I checked it on the Bose tuner which is exact.

Once I realized that the Snark wasn't exact, I checked the difference and the Snark was about a quarter tone off on almost every string. I'm not always able to check tuning at the mixer so I still use the Snark onstage as a reference point, knowing to trust my ears more than that.

YOD, not to be a jerkoff, but did you bother to calibrate it @ 440hz>?

Mine is dead on, but I calibrated it right off the get go as I had a tuning fork for 440.

They are under 10$. Get a fork and calibrate it !!! It's easy!!!

My main tuner is the TC Polytuner I love it, its awesome but its kind of impractical for tuning acoustic.

My acoustic is better than yours cause it has a built in tuner, plus I hardly ever pick it up, Im just not that into acoustics.

Ive got an old Korg and then the Boss unit on my pedal board, of course i have perfect pitch so i dont need a tuner anyway, LOL, Just Kidding

Well the one Scott has seems to work perfectly. Tuning by ear is a bad idea when your collaborator plays keys. It’s hit or miss and I hate to scrap a good take, because you find out later that it doesn’t mesh well in the mix. I got one for Ben too, since he likes playing acoustic and we have yet to ever get that to tune dead on with the keys.

That snark is a good piece, Les introduced me to.
I haven't seen but a few of them, but if they work like mine I have no complaints.

Then again, mine has been perfect so far.. (fingers crossed for duration)

It's all good in the hood.
If your guitar stays in tune, you're one of the lucky ones.
I beat mine till it cries and my reg strat goes out of tune regularly.

I meant that you can celebrate that tuner. I have had 10 or 20 and with the exception of a strobe tuner, this thing is the best so far.

If anyone's SNARK is off, I would suggest not keeping it in your car or dropping it too much. It is a precision tool, you know..that means it will hate extremes and shocks.

Talk nicely to it and don't kick it in the ass when it pisses on the floor. lol

I use the snark and one made by korg I like that one better great for on the fly tuning during a gig and pretty dead on .I'm a heavy picker and need to tune alot Works for me

Ewww my one buddy just got a snark yesterday.

NOTE: The one you want has a switch on the side that allows you to switch between vibe (vibration) and mic (microphone).

Sometimes the tuner does get blinky, especially in a crowded area.
At that point, you have to switch back and forth to check one vs the other.

And his is black, the new version? and it's not good because it has no switch and frankly it's looks cheap.

Do not get the cheap one, please look for the switch.

The good one I know of is maroon (off red), with the switch (vibe to mic).

Please do not buy the crappy one..it's scary and cheap looking.

Gotta love that snark!!!!!! I used to have a crate amp(ugh!!!) that had a built in tuner but now I use this and got rid of the crate and got a marshall!!!!!
It's a cool little tuner but you have to be careful with it.
