Just Weird

Last night I stayed in and was gonna prep for a gig.

I use a Mesa Triple Rec for live gigs with a 4x12 cab.

My rig has been sitting in the same room for a couple of weeks and the band came over last week to practice. I basically havent changed anything on the amp and I do know how to dial it in. but I started playing and got this headache. Ive been really stressed lately and I guess I was jsut tired and that was it, so I shut her down and went to bed. but thinking aobut it this morning it seemed like a mid frq kinda spike that made me have the headache. And for the record I dont play that loud in spite of the amp, yea it will get very loud but I have learned to get my tone at almost any volume level.

It was just weird cause I was planning on playing for a couple of hours.

Maybe someone else has had stress headaches that kinda spike when they play.

Dont really know if Im asking for anything, just was crazy cause I was so stoked to just let her rip.

Gig tonight at 6, I just hope that headache doesnt hit tonight.

Have a Good Un everyone!

It's weird, yes. but it dose not surprise me any.
I often hear stories of how this or that sets off a headache being a nurse and all.
I would not concern myself a whole lot about it.
Could be sinus or inner ear issue ?

If it was me, I'd pop 800mg of ibuprofen with 8 oz H20 an hour before the show.

When I start getting headaches, i knock out for a day. Course, this is a lot easier for me than for you grown-up with real jobs and all that.

It may be EMF's in your practice area, too, JW. They can cause all sortsa troubles. If things arent' shielded properly, that'll surely cause EMF spikes.

The last headache I had was in 1980. I just don't get them thank God. But then everything else doesn't always work the best. Wish I could help you on this but stress may have more to do with it than anything about your amp.

Just an add here.

At the gig my amp sounded great, no headaches whatso ever. We sounded great, the whole band did. I guess after so many years we have actually learned how to put fire into a song, no matter what it is.

I think I was stressed about soem other stuff in my life and let it get to me, not good! I ussually dont do that.

No way man.

If I was off the beaten path with nothing to do but wander around behind the little animals I might take you up on it.

These days after two bumps I could not put my thumb and fore finger together accurately.

Besides paranoia is no fun either.

SORRY METAL, When I move on from something I move on and Im way past needing doobs to feel good about anything. Ive been kinda mentoring these guys in this young band. The guitarist is pretty good, needs a better guitar. I was at one of thier rehearsals listening and this guy came in and the guitarist was scoring some weed. $120 worth, all I ever hear from him is that he cant afford another guitar, after seeing him shell out the cash on his amp to this guy, I said you can afford it all right, you just dont have your prioritys right. Hes like what does that mean, I said how often do you get that much smoke, he says every couple of weeks or so. I said, dude stick that money in a jar for 2-3 monthes and you could be buying a nice used Les Paul. He couldnt understand what I was saying at all. DUH! Its like talking to a brick wall! Or maybe I should say a stone wall. You younger musicians that think youve got to have dope, think about all the neat equipment you could be buying with that money!

I hear ya guys, but I don't do it all the time. It's more of a relaxing thing for me. I have also ran into people that shell out a crap load of money for it because they just puff away and waste it, then complain that they can't afford anything else. In my case...I don't pay one red cent for it. Know what I mean?

Matter of fact...I don't know anyone around here that pays anymore.
