My bunch just had a bad experience with a guitar shop..really bad.
And
We also just had a really good experience, so I thought this might be a nice time to start this thread.
I would like to know who has been naughty and who has been nice, in the guitar/amp/music world that you personally know of.
I'll go 1st.
THE BAD>
We called a place in CT, WOOF, a rather well known place WOOF, in CT near Torrington. WOOF!!!! FING WOOOOF!
We won't say the name because they were WOOF! THAT bad. But if you are from the area, you'll who we are talking about. WOOF!- WOOF!- WOOF-!
So we were to buy an amp from them to replace one that sh*t the bed recently. We were 2 weeks away from 3 shows that were pretty important.
So they told us that they would send us a pic or 2 to us via email so we could check out the amp in question before we drove 2.5 hours one way to go grab this thing. We told them time was an issue, etc. They assured us that they would send the pics by Monday.
WELL, that was 2 weeks ago Monday. We sent them an email complaining that they didn't send anything and that we wanted to consign a 2K$ guitar as well. WOOOF!
They responded by calling the cops. My buddy just called, the CT police called him at home last night and told him that they wanted to make sure that he didn't call, come or show up in any way, shape or form to buy anything etc. (They are afraid of getting beat up)
I have to laugh. We work with a guy from NYC that provides us with a few dates, etc. He says he knows the owner and will make sure someone gets fired.
I said, "just don't buy anything from them, as I don't want to give them even a penny after this bullshit".
THE GOOD -
We just ran into an outfit in Edison, NJ.

Fuchs is really expensive. And I do mean really expensive, but they do a good job. They tend to be a little on the short side though. They aren't really into explaining what they do. They want to take what you have, fix/mod/ODS it and get it back to you. They don't want to educate you about it.
To me, that suits me fine. I just needed to repair my older amp so that we wouldn't need a replacement and Fuchs really did me a service. They did charge a lot, but they got it done quickly and concisely. The only issue is that they don't want to tell you too much about how they did it.
lol SSDD, better than the morons in CT. They would have just sat there until their thumb ached from being up their ass for so long.
