Shure 57. Had a few others, NONE work as well for me as this one.

I just bought 2 Shure SM86s. They are really good mics. They are condenser mics, so you need phantom power, which is standard anymore these days on most mixers.

I think I'm using a Shure 65 at the moment, but I vouch for the 58 in general. At one time I was using a virtually feedback proof Shure PE52 close talking microphone. I loved it. Great for blowin' harp too. ( I eventually blew out the voice coil)
