Well, I don't know what you mean, but here are my 2 cents:
You've got a track recorded. Now you send that track to someone who doesn't have Audacity. They record a track on top of it. The 2 tracks should be in sync.
Now you get those 2 tracks back and you're supposed to add a 3rd track. Just record on top of it and it should be in sync [if you do it right].
