Just a quick note. If your amp is set for 8 ohms then plug it into an 8 ohm cabinet. Any mismatch above or below will cause loss. Usually the speaker is rated at a certain impedance such as 4, 8 or 16 ohms at a certain frequency, usually 1kHz. As you play different notes the impedance changes anyways. Also never operate a tube amp without a load (speaker) attached unless you don't mind changing output transformers.

Yes, and the cabinet voiced output on you tuber does not count as load.

Ohms are the resistance created from electromotive force (how electricity moves).

In our AC world, there will never be a 1ohm or less system. Becuase AC constatnly reverses itself.

As for tone quality, matters what your aiming for.
A small bar you'll need a smaller set, which will run more ohms.
Lets say just a head and a cab.
where on tour you will have less ohms, becuase you will need more cabs on one head.

Put simply, the more outlets for electricity to go to, and the less that something will interfere with AC's reversal, will mean better ohms (less).

Can I take a 320 watt (4 ohm) amp head and plug in a 300 watt 4x10 (8 ohm) along with a 200/250 watt 1x15 (8 ohm)? Would the combined wattage and ohm rating (8 ohm + 8 ohm = 4 ohm, right) work?

I did know where home (ohm) was once.

Yes two eight ohm cabs operated together will give you a four ohm load.
I am working on using as monitor one 8 and two 16's. Same thing.
