Line 6 is good stuff. The tones are customizable and you can use Line 6 Edit to edit your tones on computer.

Check out my profile. It is ALL recorded with Line 6. All tones are custom though. Out of the box it has some pre-sets but I do not like any of them. Make your own. The BASS pod is good too.

I like my laptop w/GUITAR RIG + foot controller into a Marshall head/cab.

Truth be told, I could probably ditch the head and cabs and run directly into a smaller amp or sound board.

The tone is everything to me.
