I am in need of a portable amp good for jamming. It needs to be able to be heard over a full band, but also be small and easily portable. Can anyone steer me into the right direction?

It will run with any drum kit, but it may not be enough "stand alone" if you play metal.

Hey guys thanks for the help, but im looking for an inexpensive, easily portable amplifier. My bad for not specifying the inexpensive part. I already have an amplifier for gigs and at the moment for jams. I am looking for a smaller amp that i can use in jams with another guitarist or drummer etc.

I found a little GK keyboard amp for a cpl hundred that works great for bass. it's fantastic for tiny venues & practices, though it doesn't have a volume control...it came that way.

Time to hit the pawn shops - keep an eye out for one of the older Peavey TNT amps.

Oh yeah! I've used those, & they are GREAT for small places.

I used to have one the older Peavey TNT 130 bass amps, worked fine for many years, till I eventually sold it. Plenty loud and not too big, I still see them around for $100-$150. I've found that a lot of the older Peavey stuff is pretty good for the price (which tends to be low).

don't know how smaal exactly you're looking for... but i love my Hartke A100, and the XLR out lets me play big with it too.

+1 on that Peavey TNT bass amp. I worked with a bass player who used one and it sounded pretty dang good. It was an older one with a 15" speaker. It wasn't small for a combo, but how small can you get and still sound good for bass? Many are using those micro heads and small separate speaker cabs but that can get pricey.

i am currently using the ibanez promethean portable bass amp its a little monster easy to setup, carry, lots of output,and pa ready i think you'll enjoy it i certainly do.(recommend pa for extra loudness).
