Seen 'em in 67 along with Creem, The Blues Project, Blues Magoos, Wilson Picket at the Murry the K show at the RKO, NYC. A life altering experience for any young rocker!
The Who and Creem were billed beneath Mitch Ryder ! (strange times, they were)

I surely must have been influenced by Townshend & company in those days, as I can recall kicking over the 'ol Farfisa combo organ many times in the high school gym after jammin' out on "My Generation".

Imho, Pete is one of the most underrated songwriters of my lifetime, in spite of his success. Ppl just don't seem ro appreciate his work on the composing level, yet they all hold up when examined. Strange chord choices, hammering rhythms of his strong right hand, & powerful melodies combined with lyrics that flow realistically, can often stand alone, & actually have meaning...yeah, I guess you could say I'm a fan...esp when you take this level of writing & perform it with the ground-breaking musicianship & amazing vocals of the band as a whole...

Up to and until TOMMY. My sisters loved that album. I found it lame.
Not much into OPERA rock or not I guess.
A premere revolution band. 8)

Count me in! "I Can See For Miles" is one of the best powerpop songs ever written. Although I'm most influenced by their early stuff, "Who's Next" remains my all-time favorite studio album.

Saw them in '78 and saw Pete and Roger in the fall; they've always sounded great live.
