geeezzeeee ummmmmmm.............thats a toughy, musically it would have to make sense (at least to me) and stylistically make some sort of cohesion
its a hard one but i will have to go with (including rotating roles in the band)
tom petty vocals/rhythm
levon helms on drums/vocals
david gilmour on lead/rhythm
leon russell on piano
garth hudson on organ/keys
rick danko on bass/vocals/fiddle/acoustic
neil young on attitude and kicking ass (remember roles are interchanging and rotating)
engineered and accompanied by robbie robertson and todd rundgren
or
robbie robertson on guitar
levon helms on vocals/drums/mandolin
garth hudson on whatever he damn pleases
rick danko on vocals/acoustic/fiddle
richard manuel on vocals/piano/drum
THE BAND (in my opinion) IS THE BEST GROUP OF MUSICIANS TO HAVE COME TOGETHER AND MAKE MUSIC THAT HAS EVER GRACED THIS EARTH

I was hoping someone would toss Levon into the mix. That man is amazing...one of my heros. Im about wore out the Dirt Farmer CD. Im so glad he worked through the cancer and proved the Doc's wrong.

O.k., one more, why not? My first two posts were metal related...So, if I could put together a hard rock/classic rock type of band, it would consist of;

Chris Cornell (Soundgarden/Audioslave) - Lead vocals
Slash (Guns n Roses/Velvet Revolver) - Lead guitar
Flea (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) - Bass guitar
Paul Raymond (UFO) - Keyboards
Dean Castronovo - Drums

Band 1
Vocals: Stephan Jenkins - Third Eye Blind
Guitar: Bradley Nowell - Sublime
Bass: Winston Rodney - Burning Spear
Drums: Joe Sirois - The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Bradley and Stephan are like one in the same. they both play amazing guitar and sing amazing. that doesn't mean they are the best they just have there own unique style. and pair them up and throw in Reggae bass player Burning Spear and Ska Drummer Joe Sirois, and you got your self a band.

Band 2
Vocals: Serj Tankian - System Of A Down
Guitar: Dave Navarro - Jane's Addiction
Bass: Les Claypool - Primus
Drums: Danny Carey - Tool

Bass Legend Les Claypool and Drum Superstar Danny Carey would blow a hole in the rock world. They would make mucis for everone. Serj would write about everything you want top hear and dave plays everything that needs to be played. these guys would rock!

Band 3
Vocals: Ian Kilmister - Motörhead
Guitar: Kirk Hammett - Metalica
Bass: Steve Harris - Iron Maiden
Drums: Mike Portnoy - Dream Theater

You want hard rock? This is what should happen. Period. Motörhead clashing with Metalica, Iron Maiden, AND Dream Theater is like magic. these guys would rock so hard your ears would bleed.
