Randy Newman - "You know how it is with me, babe,
How sometimes I can't even stand myself
And it takes a whole lot of medicine darlin'
For me to pretend that I'm someone else"

My favorite Randy Newman line is.....

"Tin can at my feet....
I think I'll kick it down the street"

Second favorite Newman line... "Mama told me not to come"

That dude really did have a way with words! :D

"Are we terminal patients that keep taking medicines
pretending the end isn't quite that near" (Marillion/Fish)

p-Monkey, way cool quote! I LOVED Marillion, esp when Fish was with them. Fugazi & Misplaced Childhood are two of my faves on vinyl. They're right up there with Nektar, Genesis, Tull, etc in my book.

When I became of age
Well, my pa he sat me down
He said "Son you've grown up,
why don't you look around?"

Then I began to notice
Some things I haven't seen before
That's what brought me here
Knocking on your back door.....

I may be showing my age with this lyric but wonder who can guess
where it's from? From a very underated un-appreciated album made a loong time ago. maybe a lil hint - later....

Favorite song ever:

Bring it to your lips and experience the sulfur infect everything that we've created.
Don't twist this around.
Don't attempt to justify what we know is wrong.
Tendons are torn and screams are released into a poisoned, mathematic atmosphere.
We're composing our funeral songs, note by note.
With this I declare that tomorrow is an illusion.
What if the clouds are fragments of mistakes,
fabricated by the factories of our foolishness?
We're composing our funeral songs, note by note.
Prove me wrong

I LOVE These lyrics!

"I still remember the world
From the eyes of a child
Slowly those feelings
Were clouded by what I know now

Where has my heart gone
An uneven trade for the real world
I want to go back to
Believing in everything and knowing nothing at all

I still remember the sun
Always warm on my back
Somehow it seems colder now

Where has my heart gone
Trapped in the eyes of a stranger
I want to go back to
Believing in everything"

I LOVE EV!!!! :D :) 8) :P

Of course it's okay:
"Pictures of you keep me warm at night
as they're burning in the fire" (me)

philbymon wrote:"You put your right foot in
You put your right foot out
You put your right foot in & you shake it all about
Do the hokey pokey & you turn yourself around
That's what it's all about"

Hmmm...what if that REALLY IS what it's all about? That would explain a lot. Of course, when I step in it once, I take it out, but I never put it back in & shake it. I just think that's so wrong! Just put it in once & END it!

You are so crazy.
